Why the captain matters
The captain's score is the multiplier for the entire matchweek. A captained card that scores 50 base points delivers 100, 150 or 200 final points depending on the tier. The captain swing is the single largest point differential in any matchweek.
How to pick a captain
Three filters in order. First, the player must be a confirmed starter with at least 75 minutes expected. Second, the fixture must favour the player: home side, weaker opposition, or both. Third, the player's recent form must include at least one decisive in the last three matches.
Tier matters
The captain multiplier scales with the card's rarity. Common captain = ×1. Rare captain = ×2. Limited captain = ×3. Unique captain = ×4 in some configurations. The tier choice matters as much as the player choice. A Common captain on a hot striker can lose to a Rare captain on a mediocre midfielder.
Fixture matters
The strongest captain pick is a strong player in a strong fixture against a weak opponent. A captain playing a top-of-table clash against an elite defence is a high-variance gamble even at the Limited tier.
Can I change my captain mid-week?
No. The captain is locked at the captain lock window. After the lock, the captain cannot be changed for the rest of the matchweek.
Should I always captain a Unique?
No. A Unique captain only wins when the player delivers. A Limited captain on a strong fixture can be the better pick.
What if my captain doesn't play?
A captain who does not play scores zero. The captain multiplier is applied to zero. Choose a captain who is a confirmed starter.
