The scoring formula
The scoring formula is publicly documented. A card's score for a matchweek is the sum of three components: decisives, defensive actions, and the captain multiplier. The order matters. Decisives first, then defense, then the captain multiplier amplifies the result.
Decisives
A goal is the largest single-event swing. Forwards earn the most for a goal, midfielders slightly less, defenders rarely. An own goal is a heavy negative. A missed penalty is also a negative.
Defensive score
Defenders and goalkeepers earn a clean sheet bonus after playing at least 60 minutes without conceding. The clean sheet is the most reliable positive swing across a season. Most managers should plan for one or two clean-sheet defenders per lineup.
Captain multiplier
The captain's score is multiplied by a tier-dependent bonus. Common cards captain at ×1, Rare at ×2, Limited at ×3, Unique at ×4 (in some configurations). Captain choice is the single highest-leverage decision each week.
