Where the captaincy conversation starts in earnest. Limited cards earn the same per-decisive score as Rare, but scarcity keeps prices higher and tournaments harder to qualify for.

Three formations that travel well across matchweeks.

4-3-3 — the workhorse shape
Three forwards mean three clean-sheet-defying attackers in your lineup. The trade-off is midfield depth: with only three mids, you are exposed when one midfielder rotates or sits out a cup tie. Best for managers who own at least two premium forwards in the Limited or Unique tier.

4-4-2 — the classic, well-rounded shape
Two banks of four give you the most balanced floor across a season. Captaincy is harder because there are no obvious premium targets, so a Unique or Limited centre-back who scores a clean sheet is often the captain that wins a week.
Best card pool: balanced across positions; one premium midfielder, one premium centre-back.
3-5-2 — the high-ceiling gamble
Five midfielders means five attackers with potential decisives. The trade-off is defensive fragility: three centre-backs without premium coverage will leak. Best when your five mids include two confirmed playmakers and your forwards are both top-six finishers.

What the scoreboard actually rewards.
Decisives, clean sheets, and the captain multiplier are the three levers that swing a Sorare week. The scoreboard is transparent, but the order of the levers matters. Decisives first, then captain, then defensive stops.

Every Sorare scoring week resolves on the same trio: decisives scored by your attackers, clean sheets kept by your defenders, and the captain's score multiplied by a tier-dependent bonus.
The order is not a guess. The platform publicly documents the formula: a goal is the largest single-event swing, a clean sheet is the second, and the captain multiplier amplifies whichever lever the captain touched most.
Goals are positive, with the heaviest weight to forwards and midfielders. Own goals and missed penalties are the largest single-event negatives.
Awarded to defenders and goalkeepers who play at least 60 minutes without conceding. A clean sheet is the single most reliable positive swing.
Multiplier depends on the captain card's rarity. Captain a Unique and the swing is threefold. Captain a Common and the swing is single. Tier choice matters.

What the Champion Europe prize ladder looks like.
Prize tiers scale by division, not by raw score. Reaching the top tier requires finishing in the top percentile of your division, which is harder than scoring well in absolute terms.

Tier I and Tier II are the only tiers where the reward includes an ETH component. Tier III and Tier IV are experience-driven and are the realistic weekly target for most managers.
If your goal is the experience and a small weekly return, Tier III is the right target. If your goal is a serious return, your lineup strategy changes and you start chasing Tier II.
